FMT 4 - Red Kite

Red Kite Field Archers played host for the FMT 4 competition on 12 July 2026.

Over 30 archers attended and the format of the competition was a 2D Marked Animal

round. As usual the course was 14 targets which were completed twice giving the

mandatory total of 24. Red Kite had replaced 4 of their target bosses with the large

format 130cm bosses with 4 more on order. The large size was welcomed by archers

by giving increased confidence of hitting the boss…

There were 4 different sized groups of animals ranging in distance from 10 to 60

yards.

The weather was glorious sunshine and several new Welsh records were achieved by Sandra Anderson, Graham Anderson, Louise Falkenberg, Dave Home, Mike Strong and Bern Kelly.

Bow styles ranged from freestyle compound to more traditional English longbows.

Following the shoot Red Kite hosted a BBQ with cold drinks on offer which was

appreciated by all.
