Welsh Bowhunter Championships 2026
A reminder that the Welsh Bowhunter Championships will take place at Afan Nedd Archers on 26th and 27th September 2026.
Registration is online - click here - and will close the week before to allow time for shooting groups to be allocated.
The final FMT of the year (FMT 5) will also take place at Afan Nedd on 25th October 2026.

FMT 6 Red Kite 6th September 2026
Red Kite hosted their last WFAA competition of 2026 on Sunday 6th September with FMT 6. Attendance was relatively low but the event was enjoyed by all who took part in great weather for the day. The field course was well set with some high scores being recorded. Tammi Stoneham claimed a new Welsh Record for the Bowhunter Limited class. It was great to see Martin Billingham shooting again after missing nearly 12 months with illness. Martin managed to win his class in Bareb

FMT 4 - Red Kite
Red Kite Field Archers played host for the FMT 4 competition on 12 July 2026. Over 30 archers attended and the format of the competition was a 2D Marked Animal round. As usual the course was 14 targets which were completed twice giving the mandatory total of 24. Red Kite had replaced 4 of their target bosses with the large format 130cm bosses with 4 more on order. WFAA Spring Champs
Red Kite Field Archers hosted the WFAA Spring Championships for 2026. A Field Round (2 x14) was shot with 17 archers taking part, many using it as the last chance to practice for UKIFAC which was to be held the following week. The weather stayed fine and dry but windy throughout the day. Some good scores were returned and the new course layout was welcomed by all. Red Kite (now known as 'Flushing Meadows') FMT 2 write up
Red Kite hosted their first competition of the season on Sunday 12th April. The event was a Hunter round and marked the second stage of the 2026 Field Masters Tour. The shoot consisted of 2 x 14 targets and was conducted under WFAA rules. Although the initial weather forecast predicted rain and strong winds, conditions improved steadily throughout the day, finishing with sunshine and clear blue skies. Success at European Indoor Champs for welsh archers
Eleven Welsh archers travelled to Waterford last week to compete in the 2026 European Indoor Archery Championships alongside over 400 other archers from 21 competing countries - and returned home with an impressive collection of medals, records, and standout performances.
