Red Kite (now known as 'Flushing Meadows') FMT 2 write up

Red Kite hosted their first competition of the season on Sunday 12th April. The event was a Hunter round and marked the second stage of the 2026 Field Masters Tour. The shoot consisted of 2 x 14 targets and was conducted under WFAA rules.

Although the initial weather forecast predicted rain and strong winds, conditions improved steadily throughout the day, finishing with sunshine and clear blue skies.

A total of 29 archers took part, representing a wide range of bow styles. Final scores and standings are available here. Notably, two new Welsh records were set during the competition.

The course had been modified since last year, and feedback from participants was very positive, with many describing it as enjoyable, challenging, and fair.

Overall, it was a successful and enjoyable day of shooting. We look forward to welcoming archers to our next event, the WFAA Spring Championship, on 26 April. This will be a Field round, also consisting of 2 x 14 targets.
